33rd & B
There are all these refreshing things, that's how I know. I keep reassuring myself. He knows all my Grandpa's songs / not just the songs, all the words to them. He was the mate fate had me created for. I don't see how I could ever get angry at him. We fit like a glove. I wouldn't blink an eye if I was posed with the question of starting a family with him. Even though all the judgemental odds were against us, he was very papa like.
As always, the family & everyone is skeptical. He was the town drunk. But something about our shivers together, they were right, they made all that not mean a thing. I never said a word about it, I myself was quite a town drunk.
Tonight, we're having beers with Benito... I am a week back from a very bottom of the barrel trip to NY for work. In the midst of all this changing hands, I had to leave town. Of course, I was on a bender at the time, and once I got there it only got worse. To make a long story short, I was alone for two days drinking beers & trying to alphabetize 1000 badges that I printed out without alphabetizing them first / these are NYC names people, if you catch my drift. Word to the wise, alphabetize! That, and don't drink beer while you're trying to do it by hand. Anyhow, they sent me home because lil' ol' me went to the bar that night to blow off some steam and ended up doing some naughty drugs once I realized it was 4AM & had to be to the event at 6AM ...with the guitar tech for Primus. Thought it would sober me up. What it did was make an already failing voice worse, and my eyes pop out at all the professors coming through my line. Hmmmph!
I'm back thankfully, and haven't seen Jim since / though he helped sit on the phone with me as I cried uncontrollably at the NJ Airport all alone... yep, thanks, haven't seen him since. I needed to hit the bottom of the barrel so I could jump back up.
Sonny asked me to marry him after some great gettin it on in the living room the other day. I accepted of course, after I interrogated him about why, and if he was sure. We went to a rock 'n roll show that night and they announced it to the general clique over the microphone. That was fun.... "Our Sonny, Our little Sonny, is getting married tomorrow..... to that girl over there...." Spotlight on me...
Pressure was on, we had to go do something quick. Without the money, or the means at the time, we visited his Mother, Yolanda. She married us, put our hands together in hers and married us. I felt so special. She lived in a home at the time. I told her we would come back and take her to dinner...... She knew. And found love for me so soon.
Then we left and made love in the back of the pick up in broad daylight right off of Madison Ave. Awesome.
We have plans for the make believe wedding in February... Leap day to be exact.
Back at the apartment, I'm getting ready to pee on a stick. Having my last beer in anticipation with Benito & Sonny. We're all very nervous and excited and it's so mysterious. Finally, I go in. I come out & I'm going to be a Mom.
The hooting and hollering and kissing of my belly was great, I wish everyone could have that. When we went to sleep that night, Sonny laid his head on my belly and cried. Immediately we were a family.
